  • How long have you been in business?
  • Courtney's Pet Care was born in 2014, and the team has been growing across Southeast Louisiana since then. Courtney began professionally pet sitting and dog walking in New Orleans in late 2014. We expanded to Mandeville, Covington, Madisonville & Abita Springs in 2018. As of 2021, we only service the Northshore which includes: Mandeville, Madisonville, Covington, Abita Springs & Lacombe.

  • Why do you call yourself a professional pet sitting/dog walking company?
  • Not every “Pet Sitter” or “Dog Walker” is the same. We consider our team “Professional” versus many others because we are continually educating ourselves, we carry more than sufficient liability insurance, we carry employee theft coverage, we conduct ourselves by a higher standard and always strive to wow our customers. There are many more characteristics that make us a “Professional” company!

  • Why should I use a professional pet sitting/dog walking company?
  • We believe pets are most comfortable in their own familiar environment. Having a pet sitter come into the home helps your pets maintain their diet, routine and helps alleviate the stress associated with pet parents leaving and pets being placed in a loud, unfamiliar environment. It also minimizes exposure to contagious illnesses from other animals.

  • Is Courtney’s Pet Care Licensed, Insured and Bonded?
  • Of course! We have a business license from Louisiana and are licensed through PSI (Pet Sitters International.) We are insured through State Farm. Full license, insurance, and bonding information available upon request.

  • What services does Courtney's Pet Care offer?
  • We offer a wide range of customizable services to fit the needs of your pet. Some of our services include dog walking, pet sitting, cat care, house sitting and many more. Our cleints can customize the length and frequency of the visits.

  • Do you board animals or bring them into your homes?
  • No. We believe pets deserve stress free in their own home care, which is why we have chosen not to have a boarding facility.

  • What types of animals do you care for? Is it just cats and dogs?
  • Our clients are mostly cats and dogs but we also care for chickens, exotic birds, hamsters, rabbits, fish, gerbils, guinea pigs, frogs, lizards and farm animals. Don't see your pet listed? Contact us to discuss how we can accomodate your pets needs.

  • Do you care for special needs, senior or pets that need medication?
  • Yes, this is no problem at all. We are trained to give insulin, pills and other medications as well as care for senior or geriatic pets.

  • Why is a Meet and Greet needed?
  • We require a Meet and Greet prior to the start of service so that our clients can meet their pet sitter and introduce him/her to their pet(s). This meeting allows you to review all important information about your home and care routine with our sitter as well as gives you a chance to ask any questions that may arise.

  • Will I always have the same pet sitter?
  • No, we work as a team. Working as a team allows us to say yes to last minute reservations, always have a backup when emergencies occur and allow us to positively socialize your pets with different staff members.

  • What if my pet professional can't make it to my pets?
  • We work as a team, if your designated pet professional cannot make it to the schedule visit we have a backup professional already assigned to you.

  • How do I schedule or cancel Courtney’s Pet Care services?

    Next click schedule on the menu tab then request new service to request visits or change/cancel service to cancel visits.

  • Can I schedule or cancel directly with my pet professional?
  • No, for your safety and the safety of your pets all visit requests and cancellations must be completed through our scheduling app. We use a high-tech scheduling app that allows us to make sure each pet in our care receives the same standard of care and that no pet gets left behind.

  • How much advance notice does Courtney’s Pet Care require?
  • We prefer at least 48 hours but sometimes emergencies happen – our goal is to help you when you need it most, even at the last minute. Visits with 24 hours or less than notice will be subject to a $20 surcharge.

  • What is Courtney’s Pet Care cancellation policy?
  • From our Terms of Service:

    Client understands and agrees that if canceling within 12 hours of a dog walk / single drop-in visit, they will be charged a 100% cancellation fee.

    Client understands and agrees that if canceling within 48 hours of a series of drop-in visits, they will be charged a 100% cancellation fee.

    Client understands and agrees that if canceling with 49+ hours advance notice of a series of drop-in visits, they will receive a credit of 100% paid in full balance on their account for future service bookings within one year.

    ** Early return home resulting in cancellation of additional walks/visits and/or overnights will NOT be credited.

    ** During Holiday periods, 100% payment is due to secure your reservation; Holiday reservation cancellations are non-refundable, non-creditable.

    Exceptions to the cancellation fee are only in the event of a dog walk canceled due to inclement weather or for pet illness. In the event of pet illness proof of a veterinary note must be submitted. If Courtney's Pet Care Professionals shows up for duty and is turned away, you agree to compensate us for the full value of the visit.

  • How do I make a payment?
  • You will receive an invoice to your email on file with us. All balances are due 4 days prior to the start of services. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and AMEX. If you have not made payment by 6 PM, 3 days prior to your service start we will automatically charge your credit card on file.

  • Should I tip my designated pet care professional?
  • Tipping is not necessary but if you wish to reward your pet professional for excellent service you may leave cash in an envelope with their name on it.

  • How are keys handled?
  • We have several options for you to choose from.

    Modes of entry can include:

    • Lockbox (Our preferred method, that way you stay in control of your keys)
    • Garage or Door Code
    • Pre-arranged key ($12 pick-up/drop off fee may apply)
  • Can I just leave keys under the mat or my door unlocked?
  • This is not safe for anyone, therefore we must have access to your home by either lockbox, door code, garage code or pre-arranged key.

  • Will my pet sitter be at my house at a certain time?
  • We do not guarantee service times. Between a visit needing extra time, traffic and a busy schedule, we aren’t able to predict exactly when someone will be taking care of your pets. Each service is scheduled within a time frame and if needed, we can narrow that window of time down to two hours.

  • Do you work holidays?
  • Yes, we operate 365 Days A Year. There is an $8 surcharge on Mardi Gras, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day. There is an $25 surcharge on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day.

    ** During Holiday periods, 100% payment is due to secure your reservation; Holiday reservation cancellations are non-refundable.

  • Do you offer a referral program?
  • Yes. We believe in rewarding our clients for sending referrals and because of that, our business is mostly referral-based. Receive a $25 credit applied to your account for every referral that books and completes service with us. Plus, the person you refer will also receive a $25 credit to their account upon completion of a series of drop-ins.

  • What is Time to Pet?
  • Time to Pet hosts our Customer App. We encourage all of our clients to download the Time to Pet App on their mobile device for ease of communication. It is definitely not required, you are welcome to access our reports through your email or by logging onto our client account through our website.

    With Time to Pet you can request and pay for services, instant message with our team, and update your pet's records. Please specify the desired time in the notes of your request and please remember we operate on a two hour window (one hour on either side of your desired time).
